Successful People Knows….

A lot of people in this world, search endlessly for some complex magical formula to understand why some people are successful and why others are not. But it really just boils down to this concept of productivity; that you are going to apply the most amount of effort to the best of your ability in the a lot of time that you have.

And all successful people realize that time is the most precious commodity that’s out there. It’s the one thing that you can’t buy or ever buy back. So these successful people realize that they have a lot of time to perform a given task so that they have to give it their absolute all to doing that task.

Because going through the motions is the most disadvantage thing that you can do. That often when you do something wrong the first time, you have to go back and do it right the second time. Where if you did it right the first time, you never have to do it again.

And all successful people realize that, that they are going to give their absolute all, and put their heart and soul to any task that they do, no matter how small or how large it is. That they can be the best person that they can be while their doing it. That they are going to do it right.

And the major difference is that, successful people do every task right while the unsuccessful people do it wrong.

You know, you can look at these professional bodybuilders; Jay Cutler, Ronnie Coleman, Dexter Jackson, Lex Wheeler, Sean Wright, Dorian Yates, Arnold Schwarzeneggar; these guys are the best in their sport, and a lot of people just disregard it as they had the genetics to be there or they had the steroids to get to where they were.

But a lot of people don’t realize is that these people give their heart and their soul throughout every single rep, throughout every singe set, throughout every single gym session. Every single day, for weeks, for months, for years, for decades to get to where they were.

That they won’t just go through the motion, but they are going to go through all mental barrier to get to where they wanted to be. And that’s the difference between the successful people and those who are not.

You know a lot of people think that what they do in life is beneficial, and they get frustrated when they don’t see the results that they want, that other people are getting.

You can say to yourself..”Oh…I went to the gym today, so I’m better off because of it” But the question that you have to ask yourself is…”What did I do in the gym today”..What did you do in the gym today, and how did you do it.

You can complain that you can’t build up your calf muscle. You can’t get a nice set of abs, or you can’t burn fat, or you can’t build muscle, and it’s your genetics that’s preventing you from getting there.

But, it’s nor realy about genetic as much as it is about the effort, and about doing the activity right. And this transfer throughout all fashion of life, whether it is working on your schoolwork, or whether it is about workoing on your business proposal at your job.

You know…even the small things in life, like cleaning dishes, or cleaning the house…Because, if you can’t clean the house right, how are you going to expect to run a fortune 500 company right? And all successful people understand that, that they are going to give it their all throughout every single task they have to do. Because time is so precious, and that they are going to do it right.

So I hope you understand this concept of prodictivity a little bit better. And you need to ask yourself, what are you going to do today. But more importantly, you need to ask yourself…HOW are you going to do it?

The #1 Muscle Building Problem SOLVED

Question: Ben, please identify the number one training mistake that would be preventing individuals from achieving maximal muscle gains.

Answer: Mistake number one is never knowing what the right amount of exhaustion is

Have you ever left the gym wondering if you could have done more?  If you should have done more? I know I have. Heck, there has even been days when I comtemplated going back in the gym because I just didn’t KNOW that my muscles were exhausted. That’s a terrible feeling.

I don’t know about you, but when I go to the gym I want to KNOW that my time is well spent and im not wasting my days and getting less results than I am after.

Here is the next cutting edge intensifier in muscle building: NOS

NOS stands for Neurological Overload Set. The set that overloads the body and creates the optimal hormonal environment for growth inside the muscle!

Hormones like testosterone, growth hormone, IGF-1 are responsible for growth. The best way to stimulate these hormones is through intense exercise that takes muscles to their limit.

NOS is the single most effective way to take a muscle to its complete physical exhaustion.

As many of you already know, TIME under TENSION is the number one most highly correlated factor with muscle hypertrophy (growth).

NOS start out by putting you in the exact optimal range for muscular growth via optimal Time under Tension (40-70 seconds)

8 repetitions done with a 4010 cadence (5-second reps) . For those of you unfamiliar with this cadence reference, it is very simple. It means 4 seconds DOWN(negative/eccentric portion) , 0-seconds pause, 1-second explosive concentric (contraction), and then 0-second pause.

The “0’s” tend to be most confusing for people, this simply means DON’T STOP. Use continuous motion and no rest or pause at the top or bottom of the rep.

Once you have completed 8 repetitions with 5-second reps, IMMEDIATELY decrease the weight by 20% and keep going. No cheating, no extraneous movement, just strict executed form.Repeat this 20% drop in weights 2 more times for a total of 3 decreases in weight.

This process will take your muscle to complete physical exhaustion. The lactic acid will be uncomfortable but find comfort in knowing that more lactic acid is correlated with more growth hormone, bigger muscles and a leaner, harder physique.

You might be wondering that when will I hit the stage again. I was not functional for the last few months, but now I am back and have already begun the preparation for the Arnold Classic and 2012 FLEX Pro. I was amazed and at the same time also enjoyed watching the shows last year. Then, I realized that I needed self-improvement in some areas in order to be able to go on par with the best in the world. Feb 2012….its ON!!

For the past few months I have been travelling throughout and so it becomes difficult to instruct and eat an adequate amount food. My weight has reached approximately 350lbs. When I am on the move I usually take in food with healthy fats and high calories and maintain my eating habits. While travelling I make sure that I am carrying sufficient amount of oats, protein powders, walnuts, cashews and almond butter. While you are travelling it becomes difficult to get healthy food, and just because of this my fat intake gets as high as 40%. Though it is not the best for body composition, but it helps reduce irritation and heal the body.

In the last week when I travelled back to LA, I was able to train in Venice for a week. It was really awesome to see friends whom I hadn’t seen in the last few months. It’s wonderful training with Joey Gloor, Eli Blahut, Justin Lovato and Chris Cormier. Thanks buddies! It was really a bad week because nobody puked. The place needs to have to have its own reality show. The characters by no means ceased to make me laugh quietly.

Next, I travelled to Vancouver, Canada, where I had a guest posing arranged. I have never ever spent much time there, but it is actually an extraordinarily beautiful place and the inhabitants love their athletics. Never miss a chance to check it out. My return journey was a complete adventure of scummy hotels and cancelled flights, but that’s another story altogether.

It is an elegant fact that the entire body-building world knows that I have been lucky enough to train with one of the best body-building instructor, Charles Poliquin. He is based in Rhode Island. This is for the people out there who don’t know about Charles, he is the person who has been writing number of books on body building for more than 25 years now. He is the one who has trained hundreds of Olympic athletes and world champions. I am sure he remembers every single context with a long-term memory. He is the best adviser, when it comes to body fitness and training. Unlike others, he can guide in the best possible way. The best thing about Charles is that he doesn’t have that attitude problem, very down to earth and loves whatever he does.

I cannot even make the list of things he has helped me with. Training under him is not in everybody’s fate and having trained by correcting the smallest details is just priceless. Charles have refurbished my training frequency, volume and even helped me out with significant corrections to my diet plan. Many people have asked me whether I have stopped working with Charles Glass. I am still working with him. I just love and enjoy working with him and continue doing the same for contest prep. Poliquin and Glass have very different methods of training, but the fact is that both of them are well-known to each other and also have terrific amount of esteem for each other. Sometimes, it humbles me to train with either of these men. Since I was of 15 years of age, I have been looking up to them.

To learn further, I have signed a contract with Charles for his bio-signature courses and training. It doesn’t matter how much you know, there is somebody definitely out there who is more knowledgeable than you and can take your training to the next level. Soon, Charles and I will hold 5 day “Hypertrophy Camps” in the fall. These camps will be in detailed, very extreme and exclusive. Only 12 candidates per camp is allowed, so that every individual gets and individual concentration as they need to train and we will whoop their asses in few of the killer exercises.
